AT&T Weekend Preview: January 17-19

(17-Jan) -- Collegiate competition takes center stage this weekend at The New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory, with three meets contested on Friday and Saturday.

Kicking off this weekend's action will be the Albany Great Dane Classic on Friday, January 17. More than seven hours of competition is scheduled, featuring some of the best schools in the northeast, including Villanova, UConn, and Albany. Cross country All-American Emily Lipari (Villanova) is slated to compete in the mile. This meet is hosted by the University of Albany, and begins at 12:30 pm. A portion of the competition will be shown via live webcast on ArmoryTrack.com.

Saturday will be a busy one at The Armory, with both the Ramapo College Indoor Select Meet and the NYU Saturday Night Shootout being held. More than 20 teams are set to attend the Ramapo College Indoor Select Meet, which kicks off at 11:00am. Division II and III teams from the East Coast make up a majority of the field.

A number of teams will compete in the NYU Saturday Night Shootout, beginning at 6:30 pm. Last week at the New York City Gotham Cup, senior captain Emily Cousens led NYU with a 5:06.53 win in the mile.

High school track and field wraps up the weekend, with the Section I League Meet #2 set for Sunday, January 19.
